United Way of Kennebec Valley Board of Directors
My experience as a volunteer with the United Way of Kennebec Valley has given me a better understanding of the human care needs in our community. It continues to be rewarding knowing we are helping the most vulnerable members of the Kennebec Valley. As a long time member of the allocations committee, I have seen the life-changing work accomplished by our member agencies. As an employee of a local bank, I have contributed to the United Way via payroll deduction for the past 25 years, and chaired our work place campaigns. I have seen what it means to my fellow employees to have the opportunity to give through payroll deduction. I would encourage all area businesses to facilitate participation in the United Way through a work place campaign, or by volunteering time in the community.
Generous contributions from people like you enable our United Way to assist 54 programs that support thousands of people in the Kennebec Valley. The allocations process ensures your generous donations are given to deserving agencies. Each year many dedicated volunteers visit and interview each agency. From their recommendations, your contributions are carefully allocated.
The United Way could not do the work it does without its dedicated volunteers. From the Board of Directors, to the people who work on committees, and students from area high schools that participate in the annual Days of Caring, our volunteers are people from our community, just like you. We welcome anyone who is interested in joining our team and wants to make their caring count.
Thank you very much for the support that is provided from your generous donations and volunteer time, together we are ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things.
