2012 Campaign Themes & Goals

With the challenges we are all facing in these tough economic times, the need for United Way funding is greater than it has ever been.

2012 Theme: You Can Change A Life - Right Here

In 2012 we decided to continue our theme of You Can Change A Life, but we added "Right Here."  This was an important addition for this year as our Campaing is being chaired by Christine Devine and Tracey Tapley of KV Federal Credit Union. They focus on local busines and wanted to carry that over into the Campaign this year, showing that it's not just anyone's life that is changed by partnering with United Way, it's the person you meet on the street, run into at the gocery store, a neighbor, and the list goes on.  Every one of us is just one crisis away from needing the assistnace of one of many prgorams that partner with United Way.  Isn't it good to know that you are helping change the lives of fellow Kennebec Valley people?  And in addition, your life is changed by being a part of it.  Thank you for helping change lives - right here.

Dental Clinic
With extreme tooth pain and no insurance, Joe needed help quick. After calling many dentists, he quickly found out that if you don't pay upfront, the dentist will not do your procedure and the wait to get in was more than a week. Joe knew that he would have to miss work if he waited that long to get help. He called 2-1-1 and they referred him to the Dental Clinic in Waterville. He was seen right away and was allowed to make payment arrangements for his root canal. He has since then, made them his regular dentist and is able to pay on a sliding scale for regular visits.
