Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year
Julie was not excited when her new foster parents decided to send her to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Gardiner. However, soon after she began attending she grew close to the people there. Julie continued to work and volunteer there through high school, receiving a United Way scholarship for activities in the summer. Julie’s dedication impressed the staff of BGCGG, so they entered her for the Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year. Julie won the Local, and State title, and competed at the regional competition. Julie is now President of the Keystone Club, and will enter college in the fall with a Youth of the Year scholarship and over 4,000 hours of volunteer work.
